Throes of the Watchmaker DLC for Sea of Stars is now available. This DLC is free and serves as thank you to everyone for all the support.
In a post, developer Sabotage Studio revealed that they spent almost two years making this DLC. The studio went on to say that they hope the "bonus final adventure" brings joy to all players.
Accessing the DLC
The thing is, this DLC for Sea of Stars isn't part of an automatic update. That means players need to manually download it from Steam for those on PC or the corresponding storefront for those on consoles. The studio also shared that since Throes of the Watchmaker is a post-game adventure, players need to open up a save file where they've rolled the end credits at least once to unlock access.
Those able to meet the requirement can return to the world map in-game. They should receive a new prompt via a message-in-a-bottle which is a message from Hortence urging them to return to the Vespertine and check on Keenathan.
When they're prompted with the lines "Hortence sounds really worried. Should we visit the crew right now?", players should choose Yes to continue. After that they should be transported to the top deck of the Vespertine. They then need to proceed below deck and speak with the pirate crew to officially begin the Throes of the Watchmaker side-adventure.
The Watchmaker
Throes of the Watchmaker sends Solstice Warriors Valere and Zale on a side-adventure into the miniature and clockwork world of Horloge. There a cursed carnival threatens its innocent denizens. To survive, they'll need to play by unfamiliar rules and confront not only the mischievous Puppeteer and her minions, but also their own darker traits.
Now since the world of Horloge has different rules, the Solstice Warriors need to adapt in order for their magic to manifest. Zale for example has to tap into his agility and become a Juggler. Meanwhile, Valere needs to harness her balance to dazzle as an Acrobat. With this, they unlock a completely new set of attacks, damage types, skills and combos.
Players can also look forward to the Artificer joining the party. This friendly engineer robot has laser-shooting capabilities.
To celebrate the release of the new DLC, Sea of Stars is being offered at 35% off on Steam. This promotion ends June 3.
