Season 8 of New World: Aeternum went live early this week and brought with it a lot of new content. One of these is Capture the Flag which offers a fast and focused PvP action. It features intense and short-duration matches where teamwork and quick decisions make all the difference.
In a post, the development team at Amazon Games revealed that the goal in creating Capture the Flag was simply. It's for the game to have a PvP mode that all players understand instantly how to play. In addition, it's also made to be endlessly replayable.
Choose a Way to Play
Each match Capture the Flag offers a balance of defense, offense, and more importantly, rapid adaptation. While players are able to naturally fill into the different roles, how they fill that role depends on the strategy of the team and their build.
It's also not easy carrying the flag. There's a lot of things to look out for especially when it comes to preventing the flag from falling. While it may sound difficult, One of the excellent features of this mode is that its simplicity makes it a good choice for casual players looking for instant action.
It's Not Just About Fun
There's no question that Capture the Flag is a fun mode to play. However, that's not the only thing going to this mode. That's because during Preview Weekends in Season 8, Capture the Flag rewards players standard Outpost Rush crates.
For now though, the main goal is all about victory and bragging rights. The team though revealed that though there's no exclusive cosmetics or achievements for this mode, new rewards are being worked on and planned for Season9
Speaking of Preview Weekends, there’s one that starts tomorrow May 16 and ends May 19.
