9 Kings is Now on Steam Early Access

Developer Sad Socket announced that 9 Kings is now on Early Access in Steam. This fast-paced roguelike kingdom builder has players grow their empire and fight massive battles versus powerful rival kings. It's currently being offered at a 35% discount until June 7.

Patches and Fixes

In a post, the studio shared that players can expect new content updates constantly. In the following months, the plan is to add new cards, new decrees, new game modes, and new kings.

The studio revealed that they decided to release the game in early access so that they could build it together. Since they're an indie team, the studio said this is going to be a big help in the development of the game.

Build and Protect

In the game, players begin with a humble village and try to work their way up to making it into a massive citadel. To do that, they'll need to recruit units so that they'll grow in power. They also need to expand their kingdom in a strategic manner and try to survive against war and strife.

The units players can obtain vary from sturdy knights and warlocks to glass cannon wizards and bombers. They can even get hordes of fiendish imps and sentient mushrooms. It's also important to stockpile gold, especially for those who want to hire thousands of mercenaries to support their cause. If not there's always dark magic and raising the dead.

Gameplay

For gameplay, each of the kings come with a different starting deck of buildings, troops, and spells. They can loot the rival kings who attack their lands and access cards from their unique decks.

Players can declare war against those whose power and units they want and make peace with kings that don’t fit their playstyle.
